At the Ribadu Cantonment in Kaduna, the 1 Division Nigerian Army Training School is pleased to announce the graduation of 50 troops and one officer from the Basic Battle Course 5/2023. On July 7, 2023, the graduation ceremony was held in front of important visitors and government representatives.

Maj Gen BA Alabi, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) I Division and Force Commander of Operation Whirl Punch, praised the graduates’ dedication and self-control during the duration of the program. The GOC stressed the value of endurance and mental alertness in combat, noting that the abilities learned during the course will enable the graduates to withstand the challenges of extreme conditions like temperature variations, hunger, fatigue, and sleep deprivation. The GOC was represented by Brig Gen MK Gara, Chief of Staff 1 Division.

The GOC urged the graduates to incorporate their newfound knowledge and experiences into their upcoming assignments and activities. He extended his gratitude to the Division Training Officer, officers, and instructors of the 1 Division Training School as well as the instructors from the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), who gave instruction in CTCOIN packages.

The Division Training Officer (DTO), Brig Gen A Wende, emphasized the Basic war Course’s goal of improving soldiers’ war skills in his welcome remarks. He noted that the training was specifically created to give students the skills and information they need to address the security concerns that the 1 Division is currently facing in its Area of Responsibility.
