The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army Major General Aminu Chinade has charged the graduating students of Basic Battle Course 05/2022 of the 2 Division Training School to put into effective and relevant use the knowledge gained during the course in their various units, formations and the Nigerian Army at large.

Major General Chinade represented by his Chief of Staff Brig-Gen ID Oloyede disclosed that he has followed the course with keen interest not just because of the central role the Division Training School plays in the Division, but due to its importance to capacity building and service delivery to the Nigerian Army.

He reminded them that much have been given to them and that much is equally expected especially now that the country is battling insurgency and other security challenges, therefore they must remain focused, dedicated and be disciplined to prove the knowledge they have gained in the Division’s training institution.

In his welcome address, the Division Training Officer, Brigadier General Oluwole Davies said the course is designed to develop troops individually and as a team to be physically robust and mentally alert, build endurance and ability to withstand extreme weather conditions, endure hunger, fatigue and lack of sleep amongst others.

He affirmed that the entire objectives of the course were achieved within the duration of 8 weeks with a series of intensive outdoor and indoor training. Some of the contents of the course include; Field Craft, Weapons Handling, Fighting in Built Up Area, Battle Marksmanship, Internal Security Operations, Sexual Exploitation and Abuse.

The highlights of the ceremony that was attended by Commanders and Staff Officers of the Division was the battle marksmanship demonstration, the presentation of certificate to the graduating students and the group photograph.
