In Ilorin, a trailer driver lost control and crashed into two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel, crushing them to death. The incident reportedly happened on Wednesday near the Pasa Bridge in Eyenkorin, about 200 meters from the NAF base, according to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

The event reportedly led to conflict between community members and Air Force personnel, according to NAN. Alhaji Shola Muse, the Kwara secretary of the Community Policing Advisory Committee, stated that efforts were being taken to bring the region back to normalcy.
Muse claimed that due to the mounting tension, he had requested that the police leadership visit the area in order to prevent any breakdown of law and order. According to a witness who only went by the name Alhaji Pasa, the Air Force officers were on duty when the vehicle struck two of them and injured another member of the Air Force when it neared the air force checkpoint and its breaks failed.
The truck driver attempted to flee following the event, but other Air Force officers nearby shot him in the legs, the speaker continued. SP Okasanmi Ajayi, the police public relations officer, verified the event and urged restraint.
