22 Senior Officers of NSCDC Decorated as ACG

Minister of Interior Charges Them to Uphold Diligence, Fairness, and Integrity

The Honourable Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has charged the newly promoted 22 senior officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to justify their elevation by demonstrating diligence, fairness, and integrity in their responsibilities.

Represented by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Fire, Correctional and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Major General Abdulmalik Jubril (Rtd), the Minister gave this charge during the decoration ceremony of 22 Assistant Commandants General (ACG) of Corps at the Dr. Ade Abolurin Auditorium. He noted that “promotion is a responsibility that comes with being accountable and responsible.”

In his remarks, the Commandant General (CG) of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to demonstrate absolute loyalty and dedication in the fight against security threats in the country. He emphasized that their promotion should boost their morale and inspire greater commitment to service.

Delivering a welcome address, the Deputy Commandant General (Administration), DCG Adeyinka Fasiu Ayinla, represented by Assistant Commandant General (Administration), Farouk Umar Boyi, CPP, commended the Minister for his continued support in strengthening the Corps’ capacity to confront security challenges. He highlighted efforts that have improved personnel welfare, promoted inter-agency collaboration, and enhanced national stability.

Goodwill messages were delivered by Major General MK Yunusa (Rtd), Controller General of Corrections, and the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, both represented by senior officers. The event also featured the Oath of Allegiance, administered by the NSCDC Officer in Charge of Legal, Commandant of Corps Bamiyo Akomolafe.

In another development, the Commandant General presented ₦5 million worth of cheques to the next of kin of fallen NSCDC personnel. The beneficiaries were the families of Late CCA Anyamele Justice and Late AIC Bello Bako Musa, who paid the supreme price during Operation Plug at Obiakpu Village, Abia State, on 25 February 2025.

The ceremony not only celebrated the newly promoted officers but also reinforced the Corps’ commitment to honour, service, and sacrifice.
