The annual West Africa Social Activities, or WASA, were hosted by the 31 Artillery Brigade Minna Niger State to highlight the country’s rich cultural diversity and to foster camaraderie within the military community.
Brig-Gen HD Bobbo, commander of the 31 Artillery Brigade, declared the WASA, which was held at the 313 Artillery Regiment Parade Ground, open by saying that it was intended to highlight the various cultures present in the military barracks community and give officers, soldiers, and their families a chance to mingle and interact with friends from outside the military.
The commander added that the 31 Artillery Brigade has been working together on a number of assigned missions to combat the national and state-level insecurity.
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honor, Colonel Gorden Ogu (RTD), praised 31 Arty Brigade for planning the occasion so that staff members may unwind, enjoy themselves, and celebrate as a unit. Those Brigade soldiers who distinguished themselves were also recognized and given certificates. Group photos and the awarding of certificates and prizes were the event’s highlights.
