As part of activities lined up to commemorate Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2023, 82 Division Nigerian Army organized Public Speaking Engagement for students of New Heaven Secondary School and other selected school in Enugu on Tuesday 4 July 2023. The Public Speaking Engagement provided an avenue to broaden the student’s knowledge on career opportunities in the Nigerian Army.
In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Aminu Chinade who was represented by the Director 82 Division Educational Services, Brigadier General Damian Dieke noted that the primary function of the Army is to protect lives and properties, he further stated that there was need for patriotic zeal and encouraged the students to consider taking a career in the Nigerian Army pointing out that Nigerian Army is united irrespective of our ethnic, religious affiliation.
The GOC expressed his gratitude to the Principal and Staff of the school as well as Officers and Soldiers of the Division for their efforts to the success of the event.
In his vote of thanks, the Principal of New Heaven Secondary School Enugu, Mr. Polycarp Alaya thanked the Nigerian Army for the wonderful gesture and said that his school was better place to host such a wonderful Public Speaking Engagement with students, adding that the students need more of the enlightenment about the Nigerian Army as it will enable them choose a better career path in life and also be good advocates of peace in the country.
Highpoints of the event was airing the Nigerian Army special documentary for the students, interactive session and group photographs.
