Kuje Area Council residents in the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja continue to praise Nigerian Army personnel, especially the Guards Brigade, for increased security that allowed for a peaceful Christmas celebration.

The majority of the Area Council’s citizens and business owners noticed increased Army patrols and surveillance throughout the holiday season.

The 2022 Christmas celebration, according to Uche Samuel, who owns a leisure company, went through without a hitch. Criminal activity was kept to a minimal, and people were free to conduct their regular business without worrying about being harassed by criminals due to the presence of the Army.

The vigilante group’s member Mohammed Aliyu expressed satisfaction with the Nigerian Army’s decision to work with them on intelligence collection, which has helped to keep criminals out of their neighborhood.

“I have witnessed the Army on multiple occasions respond to distress calls within minutes and this is quite uncommon. I feel there is something their Commanders within this area are doing differently,” claimed another Angwan Gede resident who praised the Army.

He applauded the Army’s Civil-Military strategy, in especially the Guards Brigade, for winning the hearts and minds of the locals, who are now more confident in approaching them whenever a need arises.

In order to reduce administrative load and increase effectiveness, Pius Ajiodoh, a resident of the Kuchiyako layout, stated that the Nigerian Army must transition from forces organized around large divisions to a smaller but nonetheless well-rounded formation. In addition, he urged the populace to support the Army as the government worked to fulfill its obligation to fund and maintain the armed forces.

Remember how the 176 Guards Battalion undertook “Exercise Enduring Peace” in an effort to provide a trouble-free and pleasant holiday season. In an effort to combat insecurity within their purviews, the exercise witnessed the cooperation of numerous security services.
