In the Tudun Wada neighborhood of Liman Katagum, Bauchi Local Government Area, the Nigerian Police, Bauchi State Command, have discovered a cache of suspected kidnappers.

Three AK-47 weapons, one LAR rifle, 49 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, nine AK47 magazines, one set of police camouflage pants, and one set of army camouflage jackets were also found.

In a statement made available to journalists in the state on Sunday, the command’s public relations officer, Ahmed Wakil, revealed this. Police Superintendent Wakil claimed that the recoveries were made during an operation that was conducted on Sunday in response to an intelligence report.
He said that the Divisional Police Officer Liman Katagum Divisional Headquarters was in charge of the Operation.

He said: “Operators connected to the command acted on credible intelligence and unearthed an armoury of suspected kidnappers. In its recent continuous operations, which, in recent days, recorded remarkable successes by denying miscreants a breathing space to carry out their evil actions.

A patrol team from the Divisional Police Office (DPO) in Liman Katagum, Bauchi LGA, went on patrol around the Tudun Wada neighborhood on January 22, 2023. The squad was attached to the divisional police headquarters.

As a result, a subterranean armory was discovered, and the following goods were found inside: three AK-47 rifles, one LAR rifle, 49 rounds of 7.62mm ammo, nine AK-47 magazines, one set of army camouflage jackets, and one set of police camouflage trousers, he added.

Wakil claimed that Aminu Alhassan, the state’s commissioner of police, praised the officers but also ordered 24-hour surveillance of the area in an effort to catch the evading criminals.
