In Borno State’s Sambisa Forest, the 151 Task Force Battalion of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) has neutralized 47 Boko Haram militants and found three Hilux trucks. Additionally, the Nigerian Army has accepted 135 Boko Haram fighters and their families in the state’s Bama Local Council.

While on patrol on Saturday in the south edge of the Forest, the soldiers also managed to save two members of the humanitarian relief community.

The Boko Haram fighters were murdered in Maiduguri, according to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region. The military raided the terrorists’ hideouts at Gargash in Bama while working with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and hybrid forces.

He claimed that before the troops caught them, the terrorists were huddling nearby in preparation for an attack on Banki, a border town with Cameroun. He claims that the freed aid workers were kidnapped in Monguno last year. Yesterday, MAKAMA said that the terrorists’ surrender came as a result of OPHK’s persistent offensives in Sambisa Forest.

The counter-insurgency expert claimed that a week after the terrorists’ hideouts were raided by CJTF and soldiers from the 21 Armoured Brigade of OPHK and the 199 Special Forces Battalion, the terrorists put down their weapons.

The family members of the terrorists who turned themselves in, comprising three men, six women, and 13 children, came from the villages of Nguru Soye and Kelani, according to information obtained by The Guardian.

A man, five women, and six children from the villages of Kauri, Siraja, and Lene Hassana also turned themselves in to the 151 Battalion’s soldiers at the Banki Junction on the Bama/Gwoza route. He claimed that the authorities received all of the contrite Boko Haram fighters for profiling.vMaj. Gen. A. E. Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 7th Division, tasked the valiant soldiers with eliminating the terrorists and reestablishing peace in the North East.

Troops of Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) ambushed bandits in Anka, a point leading to Dan Kampani, in Zamfara State as well. They killed three of the criminals and seized weapons and ammo.

Maj-Gen. Musa Danmadami, spokesman for Defence Media Operations (DMO), stated that after troops made contact with the bandits and engaged them in gunfire, three of the terrorists were neutralized. Three AK-47 weapons, three magazines with 63 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and three motorcycles were among the items found, according to him. One PKT gun contained 48 rounds of 7.62mm x 54 ammo.
