On May 1, 2023, Brigadier General Kenneth Chigbu assumed command of 2 Brigade Nigerian Army (NA) in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. He replaced Brigadier General Abubakar Wase, who was promoted to Deputy Director General and Director Operations at Land Forces Simulation Centre Nigeria (LFSCN), in the position of leadership.
In his remarks, the outgoing Commander 2 Brigade Nigerian Army thanked all the Brigade officers for their assistance and cooperation throughout his tour of duty, noting that their combined efforts were responsible for the Brigade’s triumphs during his leadership. He exhorted them to support and work with the new Commander in the same manner.
The new Commander also spoke, saying that he would pick up where his predecessor left off and asking the officers to give him the same cooperation they had given his predecessor. Brigadier General Chigbu was the Deputy Director One in the Army Headquarters Department of Military Secretary prior to his assignment as Commander 2 Brigade.
