Young students should embrace the characteristics and principles of discipline, courage, and honor as the foundations of a successful life, this is according to Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 of Operation HADIN KAI.

When students from the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, (NAOWA) Model Nursery and Primary School Maimalari Military Cantonment Maiduguri paid him a polite visit in his office as part of events organized to mark the 2023 Children’s Day Celebrations, the GOC gave them the charge.

General Abubakar, who defined Children’s Day as a special occasion set aside to honor the amazing and mind-boggling potentials that children possess, confirmed that he has personally observed the power, perseverance, and resolve that children hold.

He explained that the Day was not only a time for celebration but also a time to reflect on the obligations parents have to their children. As a result, he said, mentors and adults had a responsibility to provide children with the support, opportunities, and guidance they need to develop their talents and realize their dreams.

The GOC urged the kids to make a difference in the world and not to underestimate their potential, pointing out that the road to success may not always be straightforward but that they should keep moving forward and have faith in their capacity to overcome any challenge.

The GOC applauded the parents and instructors for their love, commitment, and commitment to raising and teaching the kids.

Speaking on their behalf, a student by the name of Hassina Lawan thanked the GOC for his care, support, and fatherly love. She assured them that they will continue to put their education first as future leaders.

The principal of the school, Mrs. Zara Mustapha, also made a commitment in her speech that instructors will continue to provide students with a solid education of the highest caliber while also instilling in them the values that will help them become respectable citizens and decent leaders.

The cutting of the cake for the 2023 Children’s Day at the NAOWA Model Nursery and Primary School was the highlight of the visit.
