NAOWA President Launches Book to Strengthen Association, First Lady Commends the Initiative

In her desire to provide a guide for future leaders of the association, document history, and recognize the efforts of her predecessors who worked assiduously towards the transformation of the association to an institution of high repute, the President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association ( NAOWA) Mrs Salmatu Faruk Yahaya has launched a book titled ‘ Strengthening the NAOWA Narrative’.

In her remarks, the Special Guest of Honour Her Excellency, Sen Dr Oluremi Tinubu represented by Sen (Prof) Nora Daddut commended the President NAOWA for putting down her wealth of experience in the book which is a great leadership blueprint that would inspire and empower future leaders of the Association to build on the legacies of their predecessors.

She also commended the NAOWA President for the laudable projects executed across the barracks and the society at large which has created several opportunities for the youth and vulnerable groups in the society.

Speaking at the event, Prof Asabe Kabir the Book Reviewer commended the Author and noted that the book is not just a literary work but a master piece which every success driven oriented person should have in his library, particularly young future leaders adding that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya should be praised for being a strong supportive pillar to the President NAOWA.

In his remark the COAS while appreciating NAOWA noted that it is an Association of Honor and Valor of Wives of Nigerian Army Officers who have come together to encourage unity and promote cordial relationship among members of the military family.The COAS added that NAOWA has remained committed in adding value to lives within and outside the barracks community.

General Yahaya also urged all members of the association to continue building on the legacies inherited by them while mentoring the young ones coming behind them. He commended the author for a well done job which he said would provide the needed guide and blue print for yet to be NAOWA leaders.

Also In her remarks, the President NAOWA, Mrs Salamatu Yahaya appreciated the contributions and support of the Special guess and other distinguished invited guess rat the event. The Book Launch featured displays by the cultural troupe of the National Youth Service Corp and a playlet by the NAOWA College students.

First Lady

Climax of the event was the book launch by eminent Nigerians among whom were Dr Mrs Maryam Abacha,Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu Chairman/CEO BUA Group ,Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff. Former Presidents of NAOWA , others were captains of industries,friends from private sectors, Technocrats, representative of former Governors, as well as wives of Yobe and Taraba state Governors.
