Governor Babagana Zulum

In order to give farmers in the state more secure access to their farmlands during this rainy season, Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has made plans to work with the military.

As thousands of farmers waited at a military checkpoint for permission to enter their farmlands, Governor Zulum addressed them in Keleri, a town outside of Maiduguri on the Maiduguri-Mafa-Dikwa-Gamboru Highway.

Governor Babagana Zulum expressed his concern over the delay in granting farmers access to their lands and emphasized that there should be no reason why they cannot do so in 2023, especially in light of the significant improvement in security.

A robust framework that would enable farmers to cultivate their farms safely was to be discussed and established, according to Governor Zulum, who indicated his intention to meet with the military command. Additionally, he committed to take swift action against criminals who endanger the security of farmers and the communities around them.

Governor Zulum emphasized the value of agriculture and the significance of food security while assuring the populace that the government was committed to increasing security in and around farmlands. He recommended the addition of more agro rangers to defend farmers from miscreants who prey on defenseless individuals.

Governor Zulum asked people to be watchful, aware of their surroundings, and to alert security personnel of any questionable activity. He urged the populace to support the military and other security forces in their efforts to keep the area safe and secure.

The Borno State government seeks to lessen the danger of food hunger and support the ongoing peace-building efforts in the state by emphasizing the safety of farmers and maintaining them access to farmlands.
