Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) has successfully seized a sizeable cache of Arms and Ammunition, making a significant step toward ensuring the safety and security of communities within its Joint Operations Area. These recovered firearms have been given to the Operation SAFE HAVEN Headquarters in Jos’ National Center for the Control of Small Arms and Light firearms (NCCSALW).

Major General AE Abubakar, who is also the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd Division of the Nigerian Army and is in charge of Operation SAFE HAVEN, expressed his extreme delight in the extraordinary efforts and accomplishments of the soldiers under his command. Their tenacious pursuit of criminals and aggressive participation in kinetic operations have made a substantial contribution to the reduction of criminal activity in the area. The soldiers have gone above and beyond simply defending towns and villages; they have gone into the hinterlands to defend remote settlements and guarantee the safety of law-abiding inhabitants.

The Commander emphasized that the offensive operations had produced observable outcomes, such as the capture of suspects, the neutralization of a number of bandits, and the recovery of illegal weapons. In addition, Operation SAFE HAVEN’s efforts to catch gunrunners and prosecute those responsible for stoking crises in its jurisdiction have helped to preserve peace and stability.

At the local and state government levels, both kinetic and non-kinetic tactics have been used to carry out their mandate. Operation SAFE HAVEN has successfully dealt with security issues and brought tranquility to affected areas thanks to its all-encompassing strategy.

Major General AE Abubakar enthusiastically announced that recent operational successes of the troops had resulted in the recovery of 130 small and light weapons from illegal individuals. He praised the soldiers for their steadfast dedication and commitment, which led to the successful suppression of criminal activity and the removal of countless illegal weapons from circulation.

The Commander also extended his appreciation to the brave civilians who gave useful intelligence that enabled the operation to achieve its major goals. Collective efforts are essential to ensuring long-term peace and security, he asked the public to continue supporting Operation HAKORIN DAMISA IV.

The NCCSALW Coordinator for the North Central Geopolitical Zone, Major General Hamza Bature (rtd), accepted the seized weapons and ammunition in a noteworthy display of collaboration and will to end the scourge of illicit armaments. He praised the security agencies for their unyielding dedication to establishing an arm-free society. He also promised Operation SAFE HAVEN his continued assistance and backing in their ongoing efforts to purge society of illicit weapons and ammunition.

The cooperation between Operation SAFE HAVEN and NCCSALW is evidence of the government’s and security services’ dedication to upholding law and order and ensuring the safety and welfare of Nigerian citizens. Together, they want to establish a safe atmosphere where wealth and peace may flourish.
