On January 26, 2023, Brigadier General Tukur Ismail Gusau, acting director of defense information (DDI), made a courtesy call to Air Commodore WAP Maigida, director of public relations and information (DOPRI) for the Nigerian Airforce.
The Acting Director thanked the DOPRI during the visit for the coordination of the Nigerian Armed Forces’ information management. He committed to enhancing the cooperation in order to enhance the positive perception of the Nigerian Armed Forces ( AFN).
The Acting Director believes that collaboration and synergy are essential for managing the information related to the nation’s present security problems. General Gusau gave the DOPRI more assurances about his support for rapid information sharing.
In his remarks, the DOPRI Nigerian Airforce welcomed the Acting Director and his entourage to Headquarters Nigerian Airforce and reaffirmed that he was ready to strengthen the already-existing partnership between his office and the Directorate of Defence Information in order to positively project the image of the AFN. Without jointness, he claimed, “modern warfare cannot be achieved.” As he took charge of the difficult responsibility of being the Defence image maker, Air Commodore Maigida congratulated the Acting DDI and wished him luck.
