Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has initiated discussions with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to advance his vision of smart policing strategies. Recognizing the potential and feasibility of incorporating technology into law enforcement practices, the IGP aims to leverage ICT solutions to enhance policing operations nationwide.
In a series of briefings held with the Department of ICT, the Acting IGP explored various innovative approaches to modernize and optimize police services. With the goal of achieving smarter, more efficient law enforcement, the IGP emphasized the importance of utilizing technology to enhance crime prevention, investigation, and community engagement.
The adoption of smart policing strategies entails leveraging advanced technological tools such as data analytics, artificial intelligence, surveillance systems, and digital communication platforms.
