For Senior Course 45 students, the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji hosted the Annual International Day Celebration on June 17, 2023. The symposium, which was held at the AVM SU Dambo Sport Complex in Jaji Military Cantonment, Kaduna, sought to impart important knowledge and insights on the sociocultural, political, and geographic characteristics of other nations.

Rear Admiral DH Moses, Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies, spoke on behalf of the AFCSC Commandant, Air Vice Marshal EA Wonah, who stressed the value of appreciating and respecting other people’s cultures throughout the ceremony. He emphasized that valuing cultural diversity encourages kindness, creativity, and an all-encompassing method of problem-solving. The parallels across African cultures, as well as the need of knowing history to shape cultural realities, were further stressed by Rear Admiral Moses.

The pupils’ significant efforts in presenting various cultural representations were applauded by Rear Admiral Moses. The Directors, Chief Instructors, and Members of the Directing Staff were also thanked for their leadership. As they moved closer to finishing the course, he exhorted the pupils to keep up their hard work.

Representatives from a variety of African nations, including Nigeria, Bangladesh, Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Liberia, Malawi, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, gave energetic performances at the occasion. The kids had the chance to promote their cultures and socioeconomic legacy through cultural dances, displays of antiquities, presentations of regional cuisine, and other events. The students’ pride in their cultural identities could be seen in the artifacts, traditional foods, and country-specific objects shown at the occasion.

International

The AFCSC’s Annual International Day Celebration provided a forum for Senior Course 45 students to engage in cultural exchange, understanding, and appreciation. It promoted cooperation and togetherness among the participants while showcasing the vast diversity of African cultures.
