Maiduguri, Nigeria – On July 24, 2023, in the Command Headquarters in Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri, Major General Gold Chibuisi, the Theatre Commander of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), received the Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC) Markudi. To promote camaraderie and improve collaboration between the Air and Land Components of Operation HADIN KAI, Air Vice Marshal FO Edosa, the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC) Markudi, visited the Theatre Commander.
Following his appointment as the AOC TAC Makurdi, AVM Edosa indicated that the purpose of his visit was to familiarize himself with the Command. He also reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing the Air and Land Components’ current coordination in the struggle against terrorism and insurgency in the North East. Major General Chibuisi and Major General PP Malla received heartfelt congratulations from AVM Edosa during his visit for their recent appointments as Theatre Commander and General Officer Commanding 7 Division, respectively.
The Air Component was praised in response by Major General Chibuisi for its steadfast commitment and efforts in the continuing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations. He emphasized the importance of delivering complete peace to the North East and asked the Air Component to continue its operation against the last terrorist forces in the area.
Major General PP Malla, the General Officer Commanding 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Brigadier General EJ Ikomi, the Theatre Logistics Component Commander, Air Commodore GI Jibia, the Air Component Commander, Brigadier General A Idris, the Chief of Staff headquarters Theatre Command, Air Commodore EP Bindul, the Commander 105 Composite Group NAF Base Maiduguri, and other Principal Staff Office officers were among the high-ranking officers
The Nigerian military’s concerted efforts and cooperative strategy to fight terrorism and restore peace and stability in the North East are highlighted by the AOC TAC Makurdi’s visit. In order to defeat rebel groups decisively and ensure the safety and security of the local populace, the Air and Land Components of Operation Hadin Kai work in close coordination.
Such meetings between important commanders will increase the effectiveness of their operations and support the battle against terrorism in the North East as the Nigerian military keeps up its unrelenting pursuit of peace and security.
