The Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Tactical Air Command (TAC) Makurdi, Air Vice Marshal PN Amadi, was received by Major General Ibrahim Ali, Theatre Commander Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), at Headquarters Theatre Command in Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri, Borno State, on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
AVM PN Amadi thanked the Theatre Commander for the cordial welcome despite the short notice in his opening comments. Along with congratulating the TC on his new position, he expressed optimism that the current command would soon put an end to the rebellion in the Northeast.
The mission of the Air Officer Commanding’s visit, according to the Air Officer Commanding, was to evaluate the operational actions of the OPHK Air Component and develop strategies for bolstering and supporting their operational capability. He stated that in order to fulfill the operational mandate of OPHK, “all hands must be on deck.”
He praised the Theatre Commander for his excellent and visionary leadership style and the current cooperation and synergy between the various parts of OPHK. Additionally, he gave the Theatre Commander the assurance that the area will get all the assistance required to restore normalcy and tranquility.
The Theatre Commander replied that the help provided by the Air component has been highly praiseworthy and essential to the overall success of their Operations. The TC thanked the AOC for taking the time to stop by the Theatre and mentioned that the two had worked together previously, when he was the commander of sector 2.
The inspection of quarter guards, the signing of guest books, the giving of souvenirs, and the group photo are among the highlights of the visit.
