A team from the Army Headquarters Department of Army Standard and Evaluation has yesterday, 8th December 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the General Officer Commanding 7 Division NA and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Major General Waidi Shaibu at the Division’s Headquarters in Maimalari Military Cantonment, Maiduguri.
The delegation which was led by Brig Gen AG Nura was at the Division to monitor and evaluate the ongoing recruitment exercise of 84 Regular Recruit Intake conducted at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
Brig Gen Nura stated that the team sought to understudy the recruitment process so as to ensure that the exercise conforms with international best practice, standard and procedures. Gen Nura also disclosed that while his team will tour the North East to monitor and evaluate the ongoing exercise, other teams are deployed to do same in various zones of the country.
Additionally, the team appreciated the GOC 7 Div Nigerian Army for the warm reception accorded them upon arrival and further lauded the Division’s effort in providing the requisite logistics and a conducive atmosphere for the conduct of the exercise.
In his remarks, Maj Gen Shaibu on behalf of officers and men of 7 Division Nigerian Army welcomed the team to Maiduguri. He stated that the conduct of the exercise is closely monitored at all phase so as to ensure transparency at all levels. Furthermore, the GOC mentioned that, it behoves on the Division to ensure that the best eligible candidates are selected, hence, the 7 Division Nigerian Army will continue to play its role in ensuring that the process is smooth, fair and hitch free, he added.
In attendance was the Chief of Staff Headquarters 7 Division, Brig Gen OM Oyekola, Commander 7 Division Ordnance Services Brig Gen RL Pam, Formation and Unit Commanders, Principal Staff Officers and senior officer from DASE Nigerian Army.
