In continuation with the geo-strategic your, participants of the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) Course 7/2023 delegation, led by Brigadier General TJ Mackintosh as part of the Colleges’ Geo-Strategic Study tour had the privilege of exploring the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development in Kampala, Republic of Uganda. They were warmly received by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Ms. Irene Batebe.

Ms. Irene Batebe, the Permanent Secretary, expressed her appreciation to the AWCN authorities for choosing their ministry as a key destination for the study tour. She emphasized the significance of collaboration and knowledge sharing in the energy and mineral sector.

Brigadier General TJ Mackintosh, leading the delegation, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and the opportunity to learn about Uganda’s energy and mineral development strategies. He highlighted the significance of such visits in enhancing their understanding of the region’s energy resources and their role in shaping the socio-economic landscape.

The delegation, accompanied by seven members of the faculty and 22 participants of Course 7/2023, was privileged to delve into the energy and mineral sector of Uganda, seeking to deepen their understanding of the country’s resources and its potential impact on regional dynamics.

As Team One continues its Geo-Strategic Study tour, they are set to visit various other institutions and organizations in Uganda, further expanding their knowledge and forging meaningful connections. These interactions not only contribute to the professional development of the AWCN participants but also promote bilateral relations between Nigeria and Uganda, paving the way for potential collaborations in the energy and mineral sector.
