Borno State Police Command Refutes Alleged Attack on Headquarters, Confirms Tragic Loss of Officers

Recent rumors regarding an alleged attack on its State Command Headquarters in Maiduguri have been sharply refuted by the Borno State Police Command. ASP Nahum Daso Kenneth, the Police Public Relations Officer, stated in a statement that the material is totally untrue and that the State Command Headquarters is still safe and functional.

The families of four courageous police officers who unfortunately lost their life while heroically defending the Police Quarters in Gajiram Town, Nganzai Local Government Area, have my sympathies, CP Ml Yusufu, the Commissioner of Police, stated. On February 2, 2024, at approximately 23:13 hours, an unexpected attack was carried out by unknown gunmen.

The public was reassured by the Commissioner that there are no disturbances at the State Command Headquarters in Maiduguri, and he encouraged the people to ignore the false report. Nonetheless, he asked people to maintain their vigilance and notify the proper authorities right once of any suspicious activity.

In a solemn statement, CP Yusufu underlined the Borno State Police Command’s dedication to protecting people and property within the state. He supplied the following phone numbers for the public to report any issues: 08068075581, 09025437854, and @BornopoliceNG on Twitter.

The four policemen’ terrible deaths highlight the difficulties security personnel in the area endure. The Commissioner sincerely regrets the losses that law enforcement personnel have endured while performing their duties. Insisting that the public work together to preserve peace and security, the Borno State Police Command is unwavering in its commitment to protect and serve.
