In a ceremony marked by military tradition, Brigadier General Isang Akpaumontia handed over the Command of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army Lokoja to Brigadier General HI Dasuki.
The event held at the Headquarters of 12 Brigade Nigerian Army was graced by Officers and soldiers of the Brigade who gathered to witness the symbolic transition of leadership.
In his address, Brig Gen Akpaumontia expressed heartfelt gratitude to the troops of the Brigade for their unwavering dedication and support during his tenure. He commended their commitment to upholding the highest standards of professionalism and discipline, which contributed to the Brigade’s successes and accomplishments.
Furthermore, Brig Gen Akpaumontia lauded the support he received from the Chief of Army Staff, Major General TA Lagbaja, and acknowledged the strategic guidance from him.He expressed his confidence in Brig Gen HI Dasuki’s leadership style and urged all personnel to extend the same level of support to the new Commander.
In his maiden address as the 3rd Commander of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Dasuki acknowledged the remarkable achievements of his predecessor and emphasized the need for continued cooperation and unity among the troops. He outlined his vision for the Brigade, emphasizing the importance of reinforcing security in his Area of Responsibility. The ceremony also featured intelligence/operational briefs and address to troops.
As a symbolic gesture of the transfer of authority, the Brigade Command Flag was handed over to Brig Gen HI Dasuki, signifying the official commencement of his tenure as well as the lowering and hoisting of the old and new flags at the Quarter Guard. This act symbolized the end of Brig Gen Akpaumontia’s era as the Commander of the 12 Brigade Nigerian Army and the beginning of a new chapter under Brig Gen HI Dasuki’s leadership.
