Buhari Eulogizes Nigerian Armed Forces Initiative of Developing Viable Project for Efficient Military Operations

During the commissioning ceremony for the (GIWA 2) Project, a secured communication network for the Nigerian Armed Forces, President Muhammadu Buhari expressed his gratitude to the Nigerian Armed Forces for starting a strong initiative to develop practical projects for successful military operations in the Mogadishu Cantonment of Abuja.

According to the President, the project (GIWA 2) intends to enhance cooperation between the security community as a whole and defense intelligence by providing secure methods of contact, real-time rapid reporting, and information exchange between the AFN and other security agencies.

The plan, he continued, will offer all rebels active throughout Nigeria a venue to have their freedom of action restricted. He therefore exhorted the Armed Forces to continue making strides, to stay at the forefront of developing technologies, and to engage in other cutting-edge projects. As a result, he said, it will be simpler to give Nigerians a peaceful, secure, and safe environment.

At the occasion, General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff, also spoke. According to him, the idea was prompted by the Nigerian President’s order to the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies to commence operations in 2021 to allow farmers to return to their lands.

The CDS claims that the effort “marks a breakthrough in the technological development of the AFN’s communication system. The project can provide phone, data, and video to the armed troops in addition to other beneficial services, he stated. According to him, it represents an improvement in Nigeria’s security environment. General Irabor emphasized that the project will help greatly with the execution of operations and ultimately promote national security.

In his goodwill message to the AFN at the ceremony, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, stated that the initiative will be utilized to acquire intelligence, develop trust, enhance the reputation of security organizations in Nigeria, and encourage secrecy.

Insecurity greatly hinders a country’s capacity to govern itself and obliterates its capacity to produce, according to Mr. Godwin Emefiele, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, who was there. He was confident that the initiative will increase the nation’s security framework and create jobs.

Considering how insecurity impedes economic development, Mr. Emefiele stated that the CBN is dedicated to supporting efforts that would help the nation’s economy expand and create jobs through increased agricultural production.
