Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) organized a cocktail party to celebrate the successful administration of the examination at Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport (NASST) Benin, Edo State, as part of the events to cap off the first edition of Captain-Major Written Promotion Examination Direct Regular Commission (CMWPE DRC) 2023.

The Special Guest of Honor, His Excellency Mr. Godwin Obaseki, Executive Governor of Edo State, expressed his sincere congratulations to the candidates for the inaugural CMWPE DRC 2023 in his remarks. Mr. Obaseki was ably represented by Mr. Philip Shaibu, Deputy Governor of Edo State. He described the test as something that has settled in Edo State, which is renowned as the beating heart of Nigeria, and Benin. The Nigerian Army (NA), according to Governor Obaseki, is a very professional and disciplined organization. He also observed that the good people of Edo state are proud of and devoted to preserving the friendly connection that already exists between the NA and the state. Governor Obaseki also commended the NA for its professionalism and security assistance to the state, particularly in light of the most recent kidnapping in the state.

The Exam President and Commander TRADOC NA Maj Gen Stevenson Olabanji said that the Exam location was carefully chosen because of the positive relationship the state has with the Nigerian army. He also thanked His Excellency Governor Obaseki and the good people of Edo state for their immeasurable support to the Nigerian Army School of Support and Transport and other formations and units in Edo state. Relationships are the “elixir that binds human beings together; they are something that must be cultivated,” according to Gen Olabanji. He also praised Edo State’s whole populace, including Governor Obaseki, for their excellent history of cooperation with the NA.

He emphasized that the goal of this exam was to close the gaps in professional military education and give commanders a new set of skills that would enable them to work smoothly with people inside and outside the Nigerian Army. He continued by saying that police needed to find ways to keep learning in order to meet today’s security issues. In order to meet the current security problems facing the nation, Gen. Olabanji liked seeing personnel work together with other security agencies in their respective Areas of Operations.

The commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, senior current and retired officers, representatives from Army Headquarters, members of the examination panel and directing staff, heads of security agencies, members of the Edo state House of Assembly, and other invited guests were present at the occasion.
