The Theatre Commander, Maj-Gen CG Musa, sent heartfelt condolences to the representatives of the Non-Governmental Organizations in the North East (NE), Mr. Trond Jenson Head of Office (OCHA)- Nigeria and his team. The event held on Friday, November 18, 2022 on behalf of the officers and soldiers of Joint Task Force (NE) Operation HADIN KAI, for the death of one of their staff who was shot by a soldier and for the injury sustained by the co-pilot.

A minute of silence was observed in memory of the deceased after Maj.-Gen CG Musa also delivered condolence from the CDS and the Service Chiefs. The TC assured the authorities that the Military Police has started an investigation to clarify the situation and promised to keep them updated along the way. He then asked them to send a sympathy note to the dead person’s family.

The team was grateful for the quick action taken by the forces on the ground, including their quick response, the rapid medical care provided to the co-pilot, and the recovery of the bodies to Maiduguri for further necessary action. The team leader also thanked the Theatre for getting in touch with them right away following the mishap and revealed that the co-pilot who was engaged in it is recovering quickly from hospital care.

The two sides also concurred that the unfortunate event won’t alter their current level of cooperation, support, and harmony. The Command Guest House Maiduguri was the location of the conference. It went off without a hitch.
