The Deputy Commandant and members of the Institute’s faculty paid a courtesy visit to the Defense Headquarters on February 21, 2023, along with the 16 participants in the Executive Intelligence Management Course at the National Institute for Security Studies. They were received by General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff.
The Chief of Defence Administration, Rear-Admiral MB Negenu, welcomed the participants to the Defense Headquarters and, speaking on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff, praised the leadership of NISS for their efforts, particularly for raising the professionalism and training capacities of the Nigerian Security Agencies.
Additionally, the CDS official mentioned that the country was going through a democratic transition and that the Defence Headquarters was always ready to collaborate with other security agencies to uphold national security. Mr. DE Egbeji, the Institute’s deputy commandant, thanked the CDS for approving their visit before outlining its purpose. He said that the guests included a group of 86 people from 28 various security agencies across the country, as well as guests from the Republic of Chad, Togo, the Gambia, Niger, and Uganda. The highlight of the trip was when the attendees were given a presentation on the layout and duties of the Defense Headquarters.
