General Lucky Irabor, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), visited the Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH) headquarters on November 29, 2022, to commission some significant projects initiated by Major General Ibrahim Ali, the Commander OPSH and the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army.
The Media Information Officer of OPSH Captain Oya James said that the CDS expressed satisfaction with the projects commissioned during the ceremony, in a statement made available to journalists. The projects, according to General Irabor, would improve military morale and increase their dedication to the fight against insecurity in the Joint Operation Area.
The Chief of Defence Staff stated that the visit to OPSH would inspire the personnel and troops in other Theaters of Operations to increase their operational effectiveness and professional behavior. He also praised the Commander’s enormous achievements and his unwavering commitment to continuously enhancing the welfare of the troops under his cmand.
The initiatives, according to the (GOC) 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander OPSH, will create a favorable working environment for troops to carry out their duties successfully.
The Chief of Defence Staff was commended by the GOC for his leadership, advice, and assistance in making the initiatives a reality. Principal Staff Officers from Defence Headquarters and senior officers went on the visit with the Chief of Defence Staff. The commissioning of the Operation SAFE HAVEN entry road reconstruction, the remodeling/renovation of the parking lot, the tour of the troops’ quarters and kitchen, the giving of souvenirs, and the taking of the group photo were the highlights of the visit.
