The Chief of Defence Training and Operations (CDTOPS), Maj Gen SE Udonwa and members of his entourage on 1 February 2023 visited Headquarters JTF Operation Whirl Punch (OPWP) alternate Headquarters in Kaduna. Earlier, the CDTOPS had a stopover at Sector 4 Headquarters where he was briefed by Commander Col HR Toro before his arrival at the OPWP alternate Headquarters co-located with Headquarters 1Division in Kaduna.
While at the alternate Headquarters, the CDTOPS was briefed by the Chief of Staff OPWP Brig Gen SS Shehu while the Force Commander JTF Operation Whirl Punch and General Officer Commanding 1 Division Maj Gen TA Lagbaja shed light on the grey areas in the brief.
In his remarks, the CDTOPS thanked the Force Commander for the reception and commended officers and men of JTF OPWP and 1 Division for the successes so far recorded in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, terrorism and other crimes. He commended the Force Commander for his sterling leadership quality while assuring him of Defence Headquarters continues support. The CDTOPS was accompanied on the operational visits by Commodore Oji and Colonel MM Adamu.
In attendance were Commander 1 Division Garrison , Chief of Staff 1 Division, Formation Commanders/Principal Staff Officers of both Headquarters 1 Division and OPWP and representative of Air Component Commander OPWP.
High-point of the event were interactive session, signing of visitors book, presentation of souvenir and group photograph.
