Vice Admiral Auwal Zubairu Gambo, the Chief of Naval Staff, has ordered a number of projects targeted at enhancing the living and working circumstances of navy troops. The rebuilding and remodeling of the lodging facilities at Ushafa and Gudu, as well as the Administration Building, Parade Ground, and Special Forces Holding Bay at Naval Unit Abuja, are all included in these projects.

Vice Admiral Gambo underlined that constructing barracks and other facilities for the Nigerian Navy improves morale, teamwork, and a sense of belonging among officers and ratings. The devotion to the comfort and wellbeing of the navy members, he claimed, is demonstrated by these new infrastructure projects. He asserted that the navy personnel deserve the best.

In order to recognize the crucial role that people play in naval and joint operations, the Rear Admiral AO Suleiman Special Forces Holding Bay Navy Town Abuja—named after the original Commander of the Nigerian Navy SBS—was officially commissioned. In order to maintain the highest levels of military professionalism and give Nigerian Navy personnel the training facilities they require, a new parade ground was also inaugurated.

Additionally, Vice Admiral Gambo dedicated a cutting-edge administrative structure for NUA (Naval Unit Abuja), demonstrating his dedication to operational performance and providing the tools and facilities required for effective administrative duties. He emphasized the value of administrative structures for planning, coordination, communication, and decision-making in military forces.

The commandant of the naval unit based in Abuja, Commandant A Mohammed, expressed his appreciation for the initiatives ordered by the Chief of Naval Staff. He noted that these approaches would promote morale, foster a dedication to readiness in service delivery, and increase stability, efficiency, and competency among NUA’s officers and ratings.

These initiatives show the Nigerian Navy’s dedication to enhancing the welfare, operational efficiency, and living conditions of its troops as a whole.
