Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), praised the Nigerian Army College of Logistics and Management (NACOLM) for placing a strong focus on officer training and retraining. During the graduation ceremony of thirty middle cadre officers who finished the Logistics Management Course (LMC) 21/23, the COAS spoke these things.

The COAS served as the Special Guest of Honor for the event, which took place on December 8, 2023, at the Tukur Yusuf Buratai Hall at NACOLM’s Permanent Site in Ojo. Major General Jonathan Ugwuoke, the Corps Commander Ordnance, represented the COAS, who commended NACOLM for fulfilling its mandate to boost the proportion of officers possessing critical logistical management abilities. He emphasized the vital significance that these abilities play in the accomplishment of military operations and urged the College to keep up its important work.

The COAS commended the thirty officers who finished the training successfully during the graduation ceremony, highlighting the goal of the course, which is to produce officers who can effectively handle staff logistics posts at the Division and Brigade levels. In keeping with Nigeria’s foreign policy and the goals of ECOWAS, he also acknowledged the participant from the Gambian Army and said that the training will improve diplomatic relationships on defense issues between Nigeria and The Gambia.

In line with his command philosophy, General Lagbaja reaffirmed his dedication to the training and retraining of Nigerian Army commanders and soldiers in order to improve responsiveness in addressing threats to national security. He conveyed his appreciation and allegiance to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering dedication and backing of the Nigerian Army.

The Acting Commandant of NACOLM, Brigadier General Wisdom Etuk, emphasized the devotion that prior commandants, members of the College Governing Board, and Corps Commanders have shown for the College. Noting the College’s 19 weeks of rigorous classroom and fieldwork targeted at enhancing professional abilities, he referred to the program as a milestone.

General Etuk guaranteed that the graduating students had what they needed to successfully carry out their responsibilities as logisticians. Additionally, with the cooperation of the COAS, he provided information about the ongoing infrastructure modifications at the College, which include the building of an auditorium, housing facilities, and other projects.

Deputy Commandant and Director of Studies Brigadier General JIB Manjang highlighted course highlights during the ceremony, which also featured a group portrait, certificate presentations to graduating students, and more. Refreshments were served at the NACOLM Officers’ Mess to mark the end of the ceremony. Distinguished visitors, including Corps Commanders, GOC 81 Division, Senior Military Officers of Sister Services, and Commandants of NA Corps Schools, were present.
