Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has assured the Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Jaji, Nigeria, of continued support and intervention in the development of the college’s infrastructure. The promise was made at a meeting between General Lagbaja and Air Vice Marshal Hassan Alhaji, the Commandant of the AFCSC, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.
The COAS congratulated the Commandant on his new role and expressed his gratitude for the college’s ongoing collaboration with the Nigerian Army (NA). He reaffirmed that, under his direction, the NA will continue to be dedicated to helping the institution, particularly in regards to issues like electricity supply and housing, in order to support the college’s goals.
General Lagbaja recognized the college’s history of producing skilled officers for the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly the NA, which has benefited the army’s operational engagements both domestically and abroad. In order to strengthen the college’s integrated Information Communication Technology (ICT) capabilities for training exercises and student administration, the COAS offered the Nigerian Army Cyberwarfare Command’s free services.
In response, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Alhaji, the Commandant of the AFCSC, praised the NA for its considerable support of the college throughout the years. He emphasized the curriculum’s significant advancements, which are now specifically tailored to the needs of the services. In order to improve student administration, registration, training guidelines, and accommodations and boost productivity, he also stressed the college’s commitment to doing so.
The meeting between the COAS and the Commandant AFCSC demonstrates how crucial it is for the Nigerian Army to work with and support the educational institutions that support the education and training of military personnel. The AFCSC will be more capable and efficient at producing highly skilled officers for the Nigerian Armed Forces as a result of its dedication to infrastructure support and use of ICT technologies.
