Troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai have been ordered by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant-General Faruq Yahaya to maintain military operations in order to effectively destroy all enemies in the defense of Nigeria. He said this on December 26, 2022, when giving his Christmas greeting to frontline troops at a luncheon in Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State.

A particular tribute was paid to some of the troops who had made the ultimate sacrifice while performing their duties. The COAS was represented by Major General Koko Isoni, Commander Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI. The Nigerian Army, he continued, “remains dedicated to providing quality welfare for their families and upholding the memories of their exceptional sacrifice.”

He further encouraged the troops to abstain from politics as the general elections in 2023 gets near. Throughout the campaigning period, he issued orders to the troops demanding that they always act professionally and rigorously adhere to the Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement.

The colorful ceremony was attended by members of the Yobe State Government, leaders of various security agencies, NGOs, traditional leaders, troops and friends and well-wishers.
