Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has underlined his commitment to bettering ties between the general public and the Nigerian Army (NA). During the commissioning of the renovated Nurul-Ulum Primary School and the newly built 6 classroom blocks at Leme Bora Primary School, both undertaken by the NA in the Gembu community of Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, he made note of this.

The COAS added that the Nigerian Army has recently begun undertaking elaborate fast impact initiatives in a number of towns across the nation with a view to giving the population the assistance they desire and to further solidify the already positive relationship between the NA and the populace. He said that over time, the gesture had greatly helped the NA deal with the complex security difficulties the country was currently experiencing, particularly when using a non-kinetic strategy.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander of Operation SAFE HAVEN (OPSH), Major General Abdulsalami Bagudu Ibrahim, was present on behalf of the COAS. He expressed appreciation to the Project Executor for the projects’ selection and caliber. Additionally, he urged Taraba State’s good citizens to continue supporting the NA in its efforts to make the state safe and secure for economic activity.
The COAS added asked Gembu’s good citizens to uphold the law, cherish peace, and continue to offer helpful information to the security services.”…peace creates unity, and progress comes from unity. He argued.

The Chief of Civil-Military Affairs Army, Major General MG Kangye, also spoke at the occasion and stressed that the principle behind the project is free of political overtones. It’s to win the people over to the Army, he claimed. General Kangye added that the NA has carried out countless similar intervention projects across the nation. He encouraged Gembu residents to make sure the facilities were used properly.

Earlier The Executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Area Taraba State, Dr. AA Jugulde, praised the NA for honoring Major General A Adam with a project that is both affordable and beneficial to many generations of the people in his opening remarks. He identified the senior officer as a detribalized Nigerian philanthropist.

The Ta’bon of Mambilla, HRM Alhaji Dr. Shehu Audu Bajull, also spoke at the ceremony and thanked the COAS for thinking the isolated town deserving of the Army intervention projects. He also praised Major General A Adamu for using the projects to bring the NA and the community together. By undertaking this endeavor, “you have sown a seed and also set a standard for others to follow,” he said.

The project’s executor, Major General Abubakar Adamu (Retired), the previous commander of the Nigerian Army Cyber Warfare Command, thanked the COAS for sanctioning funding for the projects’ completion. He made the decision to build and renovate school buildings on the grounds that education is the key to success in life. General Adamu fervently advised parents to make sacrifices for their kids’ academic success.

The commissioning of the projects, the cultural show, and the giving of mementos to dignitaries were the event’s high points.
