On May 3, 2023, at the Minna Military Cantonment, Lieutenant-General Faruk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff COAS commissioned projects in Minna and checked on those that were already underway. At the Command Headquarters, the COAS was welcomed by Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division NA, Corps Commanders, Brigade Commanders, and other senior officers.

The COAS visited the Cantonment to review several current projects and to commission the Work Production Centre, Manual Wargaming Centre, 31 Artillery Brigade Medical Center, and Commander TRADOC official house.

General Yahaya praised the Commander’s initiatives and diligent efforts during the commissioning ceremony. He praised the promotion of the welfare and well-being of TRADOC personnel, which was seen in the provision of infrastructure and other completed assigned tasks. The NA is steadfast in continuing the battle against crime in the nation and maximizing tax collection, according to COAS.

He emphasized that the decision to construct the Manual War gaming Center is intended to have an impact that will continue to enhance the successes of NA’s operations in the North West, and he added that the intensified offensive operations to eradicate armed bandits and other criminal elements in the North West and North Central regions have equally produced fruitful outcomes.

General Yahaya reaffirmed NA’s commitment to continuously influencing national, regional, and international security. He also took the chance to express his gratitude to His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, for supporting the NA and providing funds for the purchase of cutting-edge platforms, which, in his words, have continued to boost successes in numerous operations across the nation.

In accordance with the COAS Command doctrine, which is based on four pillars—professionalism, readiness, administration, and cooperation—General Olabanji stated that what TRADOC has accomplished thus far.

“It is heartening to note that these projects will unquestionably improve the wellbeing and output of officers, soldiers, and their families while improving the aesthetics of the Minna Military Cantonment,” he continued. The Manual Wargaming Centre, however, is notable for its influence on training throughout the NA. It is also crucial to note that the COAS holds this project in the highest regard because it will fundamentally alter how the Army trains and, consequently, conducts its operations.
