COAS Conference: Olowu Congratulates Chief of Army Staff, Urges More Support For The Military

As the Nigerian army works to put an end to the insurgency and other criminal elements in the nation, HRM Oba Dr. Hameed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, Tegbosun III, the Olowu of Kuta, has encouraged Nigerians to support it more than ever. The current COAS conference, according to the king, is an additional chance for us to show our support for the armed forces, which he described as the source of national pride.

In a statement released by his media office on Tuesday in Kuta, Olowu insists that the Nigerian military, particularly the army, needs greater assistance in completing this difficult duty in order to preserve Nigeria together. The monarch also congratulated prominent Nigerians who had made significant contributions to bolstering the army, particularly Ambassador Tukur Buratai, a former army chief of staff whose efforts had resulted in a smooth transition and a model that was used by the military to defeat Boko Haram members.

He did, however, commend Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya, the chief of the army staff, for his cordial connections with the heads of the other services.”Now is the moment to provide a helping hand and support the army,” he said, referring to the Nigerian army’s efforts to purge the nation of Boko Haram and other criminal groups.

“Our spiritual and psychological support is crucial at this time, and I also want to let the army and the military know that Nigerians value what they do and are firmly behind them.

“We ought to honor the memory of the fallen warriors as well as the families of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the country. The only way to give the living hope and ensure that the dead’s death was not in vain is through this”. He continued.

Olowu thanks President Buhari for giving the military the desired priority in financial allocation and assures him that the Army, under the command of General Farouq Yahaya, will not let him down or the country down.
