Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), honored the bravery, tenacity, and sacrifices made by soldiers in Operation HADIN KAI during a special Christmas luncheon in Maiduguri. In addition to promoting camaraderie and celebrating the holiday season with frontline troops, the event demonstrated the Nigerian Army’s dedication to enhancing military welfare.
During his speech, General Oluyede highlighted the importance of the event and its function in providing a familial environment for soldiers who are separated from their loved ones. He urged them to continue their efforts in order to achieve complete victory and bring peace back to the country, and he praised their unshakable commitment to the battle against terrorism and violent extremism.
General Oluyede, who lay the cornerstone for the construction of two new blocks of family housing at Maimalari Cantonment during his visit, reaffirmed his commitment to advancing welfare measures and upholding his Command Philosophy.
Through Dr. Bukar Tijani, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, the governor of Borno State, conveyed his appreciation for the sacrifices made by the military to maintain regional stability and promised sustained state support for current operations.
The COAS’s regular visits to raise soldier morale were praised by Major General Waidi Shuaibu, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, who also reassured him of their unwavering dedication to combat objectives.
The Christmas luncheon reinforced the Army’s commitment to securing the country and enhancing the well-being of its soldiers as the year came to an end by serving as a call to action as well as a celebration of accomplishments.
