Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Emmanuel Wonah, Commandant of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Nigeria, has reaffirmed his commitment to continuing to assist the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association in achieving its goals of enhancing the welfare conditions for barracks women and children. He said this when Mrs Lillian Musa, Coordinator NAOWA, Jaji Chapter, paid him a courtesy call on April 13, 2023.

The Commandant AFCSC also noted that NAOWA is a non-governmental organization and that, as such, they require assistance in order to carry out their programs. NAOWA often does a number of projects in order to aid barracks women and children. Therefore, he praised the coordinator’s efforts for having the good will to build on what her predecessors had started, and he promised to help them carry out their operations in order to accomplish the association’s goals.

Mrs. Lillian Musa had earlier indicated that the visit was a part of the Association’s attempt to greet and congratulate the Commandant AFCSC AVM Emmanuel Alu Wonah on his appointment as well as to further request his cooperation and support in order to accomplish the Association’s goals. According to her, this entails building new classroom buildings at the NAOWA primary school as well as providing the students with fresh educational possibilities and a comfortable learning atmosphere.

Mrs. Lillian Musa further stated that she will keep working with the College to develop options for self-sufficiency in order to improve the conditions for barracks women and children leaving the cantonment and, by extension, the surrounding community.

Finally, Mrs. Lillian Musa praised the Commandant’s efforts to turn around the college’s circumstances and expressed gratitude for their cordial welcome.

AVM Emmanuel Wonah was visited by the District Head of Rigachikun, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Sani, and his counterpart, the Village Head of Wusono, Alhaji Saminu Hussaini, together with members of their respective village heads, in a similar vein.

According to the delegation leaders, the visit is in keeping with their storied tradition of getting to know and understand the College’s leadership. As a result, they offered their congratulations on the Commandant’s appointment and requested continued cooperation and assistance from the College. highlighting how this will help to maintain the goodwill between the College and its host communities.

In his remarks, AVM Wonah thanked the delegations for their visit and praised their efforts, which he claimed were to blame for the College and its host villages coexisting peacefully. He declared that he is prepared to take any necessary steps to strengthen the already successful working relationship.

He, therefore, promised to continue working with the host communities and providing support. Finally, he asked the delegations to promote security awareness among their workers and to give timely, accurate, and insightful information that will help staff members perform their duties. The gift of mementoes, signing of the visitor’s book, and group photo were among the highlights of the visit.
