The Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, Brig Gen MT Aminu has pledged to give more support to security agencies in Ogun state. The Commander made this promise during the courtesy visit of Commissioner of Police (CP) Ogun State Command, CP Olanrewaju Yomi to Headquarters 35 Artillery Brigade on Thursday 11 May 2023.

The Commander promised to leverage on the already existing excellent relationship between the brigade and security agencies in the state. He also promised to support the Nigerian Police, Ogun State Command and other security agencies in the state when necessary.

He further urged the CP never to hesitate to reach out to the military when the need arises, especially when faced with challenging tasks that need to be tackled jointly.

Speaking earlier, the CP said the visit hinged on the need to sustain the already existing partnership and good working relationship between the two security agencies while thanking the Brigade Commander for the support the Police Command has enjoyed over the years.

The duo who have benefited from the existing synergy chatted ways forward in enhancing the security situation of the State. Over the years, the synergy between the two security agencies has been strengthened through a number of initiatives, including joint training programs, joint operations, and information sharing. The two agencies have also worked together to develop strategies and tactics aimed at countering terrorism, insurgency, and other criminal activities.

One of the key areas of cooperation between the Nigerian Army and Police Force has been in the fight against terrorism, particularly in the northeast region of the country. The two agencies have worked together to conduct joint operations against terrorist groups such as Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), sharing intelligence and resources to ensure the success of these operations.

The event climaxed with the signing of the visitor’s book, presentation of a plaque and group photograph with the Brigade Commander and other staff officers.
