Yenagoa, Bayelsa State – On July 14, 2023, Rear Admiral Olusegun Ferreira, the Commander of Joint Task Force (JTF) South South Operation DELTA SAFE, cordially greeted Rear Admiral Umar S Ayuba Chugali, the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC) Central Naval Command.
Rear Admiral Umar S. Ayuba Chugali, FOC Central Naval Command, stressed during the meeting that his command is committed to helping the Joint Task Force achieve their shared goal of protecting vital national infrastructure for the country’s economic stability and ensuring the security of people and property in the Niger Delta. He made a point of emphasizing how crucial it was for them to work together to combat local crimes like pipeline damage and crude oil theft.
Rear Admiral Olusegun Ferreira, the Commander OPDS, promised the Command that the Joint Task Force and the naval command will continue to work together in response to the FOC’s comments. He emphasized their commitment to collaborating in order to successfully combat marine crimes in accordance with OPDS’s mandate.
