Minna, Niger State – The 2023 Combined Mid Year Course Appraisal, Curriculum Harmonization Workshop, and Research and Development Conference was recently held by the Headquarters Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (HQ TRADOC NA). Deputy commandants of Nigerian Army training schools and particularly invited officers attended the ceremony, which took place at the HQ TRADOC NA Auditorium in Minna.
The conference was formally launched by Major General KO Aligbe, Commander of TRADOC NA, who was present through Major General JAL Jimoh, Chief of Doctrine and Combat Development at HQ TRADOC NA. The Commander stressed the significance of training, research, and development in boosting professionalism and performance in modern operational conditions, according to Lieutenant Colonel ST Uba, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, who spoke at the inaugural event.
The commander exhorted Nigerian Army officers to aggressively pursue lifelong learning and research in order to advance their knowledge and skills. The officers would be more equipped to handle the difficulties of contemporary military operations by placing a higher priority on training, research, and development. The occasion served as a forum for discussion, the sharing of best practices, and the promotion of a continuous improvement culture within the Nigerian Army.
In his speech, the Commander thanked Major General TA Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, for providing the resources required to ensure the event’s success. Initiatives for training and development within the Nigerian Army have advanced thanks to the Chief of Army Staff’s commitment and assistance.
Professor Usman Tar’s speech, “Enhancing Research and Development and Capacity Building in the Nigerian Army,” was one of the conference’s significant highlights. Insights and tactics to support research and development in the Nigerian Army were offered by Professor Tar, a renowned academic and current Director of the Centre for Defence Studies and Documentation at the Nigerian Defense Academy. His knowledge and skill helped the conference as a whole to succeed.
The Combined Mid Year Course Appraisal, Curriculum Harmonization Workshop, and Research and Development Conference offered Nigerian Army officers a useful forum to develop their abilities, exchange knowledge, and promote a culture of continuous development.
