Minna, Nigeria – Major General Kelvin Aligbe, the Commander of Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), has emphasized the critical importance of continuous training for officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army. He stated that training remains paramount in the discharge of the Nigerian Army’s constitutional duties.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Combined Mid-Year Courses Appraisal Curriculum Harmonization Workshop/Research and Development Conference 2023 held at TRADOC NA Headquarters in Minna, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, conveyed the Commander’s message.

The event, which saw the participation of Deputy Commandants from Nigerian Army training institutions, aimed to build capacity for optimum performance and professionalism in line with international best practices. The conference provided a conducive environment for interaction and brainstorming, fostering the exchange of ideas to promote and enhance learning.

Major General Aligbe encouraged the participants to take the lessons learned during the conference back to their respective schools and develop curricula that would benefit the Nigerian Army in its operations. By implementing these insights, the Nigerian Army can continually improve and adapt to the evolving challenges of modern warfare.

The Commander extended his appreciation to the facilitators, moderators, and discussants for contributing their expertise to the success of the event. He also thanked Major General Toreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff, for approving logistics to ensure the smooth conduct of the conference.

In his vote of thanks, Brigadier General Mbaka, the Acting Director Training at TRADOC Nigerian Army Headquarters, expressed gratitude for the five-day training, which equipped the participants with new skills to develop high-quality curricula for Nigerian Army training institutions in line with international best practices.

The commitment to continuous training and development of personnel is a testament to the Nigerian Army’s dedication to maintaining a highly skilled and professional force. Through ongoing learning and improvement, the Nigerian Army can remain agile and adaptive in fulfilling its constitutional duties, ensuring the security and wellbeing of the nation. The lessons and knowledge gained during the conference will undoubtedly contribute to the Nigerian Army’s readiness and effectiveness in addressing emerging security challenges and complex operational environments.
