As part of efforts geared towards ensuring synergy between the Nigerian Army and the Nigeria Police Force, the newly posted Commissioner of Police Adamawa State Command, CP Afolabi Babatola, have been reassured of the Nigerian Army’s support towards clamping on criminal elements in the State. The reassurance was given today 16 of February 2023 by the Commander 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Jibrin Gambo, when the CP paid him a courtesy visit at Gibson Jalo Cantonment Yola.
In his remarks, CP Babatola stated that his visit was to familiarize with the Brigade and formally seek the commander’s continued support to enable the police in Adamawa State sustain the successes recorded in securing peace and curbing activities of criminal elements within the State, especially as the 2023 general elections draws closer.
The Police Commissioner reiterated that Nigeria Police has enjoyed the cordial relationship that has existed over the years between the Brigade and the State Police Command stressing that the Command under his watch looks forward to a more cordial relationship to enable him succeed in his task.
In his response, the Commander 23 Brigade, Brigadier General Mohammed Jibrin Gambo, congratulated the new Commissioner of Police on his appointment while thanking him for choosing the Brigade as an important point of collaboration to call on.
He enumerated the successes achieved by the ongoing joint operations between the Army and other security agencies in ensuring a peaceful, safe and secured Adamawa State. He went further to reassure the new Police Commissioner of the Brigade’s support and collaboration while stressing that the Brigade will continue to sustain the joint operations with the police in a bid to ensure unity of efforts and improve esprit de corps.
The Commander affirmed that 23 Brigade remains steadfast and committed in playing the needed role to ensure that issues of security challenges within Adamawa State and its environs remain the utmost priority.
Climax of the visit was the signing of visitor’s book, presentation of souvenirs and group photograph.
