The temporary NYSC Orientation Camp site is located at Science Secondary School in Gusau, the state’s capital, and today, CP Kolo Yusuf, the commissioner of police for Zamfara State Command, paid a visit there as part of his commitment to the security and safety of Corp Members in the state.
According to a statement made by SP Mohammed Shehu, the police public relations officer for the Gusau Command, on behalf of the commissioner of police, the purpose of the visit is to improve and fortify the camp’s current security measures in order to ensure the safety of all potential Corp Members and management staff of the NYSC in the state.
In his address to the prospective members of the corps, the commissioner of police reassured them that the police would work to protect their lives both inside the camp and in their main areas of responsibility.
The CP additionally advised people to remain alert to their own security and alert the police and other security authorities to any suspicious activity so that appropriate action could be taken.
