The Commander 16 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 2 Joint Task Force (South-South) Operation Delta Safe, Brigadier General Sadisu Yakasai has assured of enhanced collaboration and synergy between the Brigade and other security agencies in Bayelsa State in tackling crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and other sundry crimes. Brigadier General Yakasai gave the assurance on Wednesday 12 July 2023, when he received in audience, the Customs Area Comptroller Area 1 Command, Portharcourt, Comptroller CD Wada at the 16 Brigade Headquarters, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The Brigade Commander, while appreciating the Area Comptroller for the visit, harped on the importance of inter-agency collaboration in the conduct of effective kinetic and non-kinetic operations within a joint operating environment, emphasizing that inter-agency cohesion and camaraderie in a joint setting are crucial, considering the current dynamics of today’s contemporary security challenges.
He thereafter lauded the existing partnership between the Brigade and other security agencies in Bayelsa State, assuring of enhanced collaboration with the Customs Area Command and other security agencies, especially in the area of information – sharing.
Earlier, the Customs Area Comptroller, Comptroller CD Wada, appreciated the Brigade Commander and his men for being of tremendous support to the Customs Area Command in the discharge of its constitutional roles, adding that the Command was keen on fostering cordial working relations with the Brigade.
In attendance at the visit were the Commander 16 Brigade NA, Chief of Staff 16 Brigade, Staff officers, the Area Comptroller and members of his entourage.
Highlights of the Visit were the endorsement of the visitors’ register, presentation of souvenirs and group photograph.
