Defence Headquarters: Four IPOB Militants Killed, Five Arrested, Weapons Retrieved by Troops

The troops of the Nigerian Army are believed to have killed no less than four terrorists who were purportedly IPOB Militants. According to the Defence Headquarters, the Nigerian Army used charms and IEDs to apprehend five IPOB members.

At a news conference on Thursday, the Defence Headquarters’ spokesman, Musa Danmadami, made this announcement while providing an update on the operational activities carried out over the previous two weeks.

In order to bring peace and normalcy back to the area, troops conducted operational activities in search of IPOB Militants in villages, forests, towns, and cities in the states of Anambra, Abia, Enugu, and Imo, according to Danmadami.

Notably, on January 31, 2023, troops raided a criminal camp belonging to the Indigenous People of Biafra and the Eastern Security Network in the Ovuru community forest in the Uzo-Uwanni Local Government Area of Enugu State. They found an AK-47 rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm special, a pump-action gun, 31 rounds of ammunition, an IED made locally, a vehicle, a battery, two solar panels, a wifi device, and three

Two radio chargers, 42 beret pairs, nine pairs of blue uniform pants, 11 belts, 12 mobile phones, gun powder, and charms are among the additional goods found.
