The Director General NYSC, Brigadier-General Yusha’u  Dogara has charged the Corps members to respect the cultural beliefs and customs of their host communities, and to steer clear of doing anything that would place them in conflict with the communities.

At the Orientation Camp at Magaji Dan-Yamusa, Keffi, today, Brigadier General Yusha’u Dogara Ahmed, Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, addressed Corps Members assigned to Nasarawa State.

He claimed that while Management has made every effort to ensure that the Corps Members’ service year goes off without a hitch, they must still do their part by setting a positive example for others at all times.

He counseled them to use social media to advance racial harmony and inclusion. Learn about the customs and cultures of your host communities, make friends with everyone you meet while serving your community, and work hard while remaining patient and prayerful because, the DG assured them, they will succeed.

For those of them who would act as ad hoc personnel during the upcoming general elections, he underlined the assurance of adequate security and an improved welfare package.

General Ahmed advised the Corps Members to enroll in the NYSC program for skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development since it would help them advance toward independence.

The Director General NYSC visited the NYSC North Central Integrated Skill Acquisition Center, which is located inside the Nasarawa State Orientation Camp Keffi, as well as the NYSC Bread and Water Factories when he was in camp, and he congratulated the managers and staff of both establishments.

General Ahmed gave 200 plastic chairs and 10 standing fans to the Orientation Camp before he left the camp. The Secretariat recorded a total of 1,355 Corps Members, made up of 694 men and 661 women, according to Alhaji Abdullahi Jikamshi, the NYSC Nasarawa State Coordinator, who briefed General Ahmed on the situation at the camp.

According to the NYSC director, all Corps Members have been actively participating in all camp activities, including the trainings and lectures on the program for entrepreneurship development and skill acquisition. He also provided the Director General with information regarding the possibilities for the NYSC Nasarawa State Orientation Camp and the accomplishments made thus far.
