The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 82 Division Nigerian Army Major General Umar Musa has today 20 January 2023 appealed to the people of South East to always endeavor to disregard false information which tend to cause chaos in society.
The GOC made the appeal during the commissioning ceremony of recently completed projects by Commanders at Headquarters 82 Division Abakpa Cantonment.
Recall, General Musa who was recently posted out to AHQ Department of Personnel Management said the commissioning ceremony is part of activities lined up for the handing and taking over the ceremony. He further said he will miss the good people of the region; adding that the greatest challenge he faced was misinformation by some unscrupulous elements whose aim was to tarnish the image of the Nigerian Army and the country at large.
The GOC further urged the Commanders and Principal Staff Officers to redouble their efforts to ensure that peace returns to the South East region and the nation at large. He equally urged the good people of South East to shun rumours at all times and look out for authentic information that could help the security agencies to effectively discharge their constitutional responsibilities.
The commissioned projects include; 82 Division Garrison Quarter Guard, 82 Division Provost Group Administrative Company, Remodeled 82 Division Band Office Complex and the Intelligence and Military Police Detention Facility.
