Enhancing Fighting Efficiency: Multinational Joint Task Force Gets Military Hardware

To improve their fighting effectiveness in all operations in the region, the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) troops stationed at Forward Operational Base Kirawa received 4 new Toyota Buffalo Hilux from the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation HADIN KAI Major General Waidi Shaibu.

The Force Commander (FC) Multinational Joint Task Force Major General Abdul Khalifa Ibrahim received the presentation on December 14, 2022, at the border town. “Today signal the hight of synergy and cooperation between MNJTF and OPHK, because together we have been neck deep in the war against insurgency for over a decade and this partnership is coming to fusion day in and day out,” the GOC stated while presenting the fighting vehicle.

In order to improve the overall Operational activities of FOB Kirawa, which is manned by a Company of the Cameroonian Defence Force Multinational Joint Task Force, he continued, “We are here on behalf of the AFN to make this presentation showing the magnanimity of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya. He further expressed optimism that the newly donated vehicles will add more to their fighting efficiency.

When accepting the cars on behalf of the Multinational Joint Task Force, the FC, Major General AK Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the CDS and COAS for their unwavering dedication and support to the war against insurgency, particularly to the Multinational Joint Task Force troops. As a result, he gave the vehicles to Col. Tiokap Loti, Commander Sector 1 Multinational Joint Task Force, adding that they will undoubtedly aid the force in ensuring that both nations and the Lake Chad region as a whole are adequately secure.

Following that, the FC and the GOC spoke briefly with representatives of the Kirawa communities and promised them increased help and safety. In a similar vein, Abdulrahaman Abubakar, the District Head of the Community, commends the leadership of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Multinational Joint Task Force, OPHK, and the Local Forces inside the community for working around the clock to maintain the security and safety of locals.

Highlights of the event included the introduction of the vehicles, examination of the guard mounted by Multinational Joint Task Force personnel, briefing with community members, and group photo, among others.

Maj Gen AK Ibrahim, GOC 7 Division, Maj Gen W Shaibu, Deputy FC Multinational Joint Task Force, Brig Gen Assouala Blama, Commander, 26 Task Force Brigade, Brig Gen DR Dantani, and Commander Sector 1 MNJTF Col Tiokap Loti were all present at the event. The DCOS G3 (Operations), Col. EE Nlemadim, Commander of the 7th Military Intelligence Brigade, Col. AA Ude, Commander of the 7th Provost Group, Lt. Col. MA Adebayo, as well as various Formation and Units, are among the others.
