On Monday 21 November 2022, the Special Guest of Honor, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army (GOC 81 Div NA), Major General Obinna Ajunwa and his Principal Staff Officers amongst other dignitaries paid an operational visit to the Camp Area for Exercise OFO NWAGHA at 81 Div Training Area, Ajilete-Owode, Ogun State. The GOC was received at the Quarter Guard by the Commandant, Nigerian Army College of Logistics (NACOL), Major General Adekunle Adeyinka.
Shortly after inspecting the Quarter Guard, the GOC and other dignitaries were received at the Information Centre by the Deputy Commandant/Director of Studies (Dy Comdt/DOS), Brigadier General MW Abubakar alongside Chief Instructors and other Members of Directing Staff (MDS). At the Information Center, the visiting team were briefed on the conduct of the Exercise by one of the participants of the Course. Thereafter, the visiting team were further conducted on a guided tour of other sections of the camp where they were properly briefed.
It should be recalled that the Exercise has been designed to test the students of the course on leadership qualities, endurance, map reading, and command and control capabilities among others. The visiting team also proceeded to the operation room, where they were further briefed on operational plans as regards the conduct of the tactical phases of the Exercise.
Present at the event were, Commander 81 Division Provost Group, Brigadier General ML Abubakar, Commander 81 Division Military Intelligence Brigade, Brigadier General KN Nwoko, 81 Division Deputy Director Army Public Relations, Lieutenant Colonel OJ Osoba, Assistant Director Combined Arms Training AHQ DATI, Lieutenant Colonel MD Olaseni, MDS AFCSC Jaji, Lieutenant Colonel AJ Yayu, Commanding Officer 192 Battalion (Rear), Major CN Onyemauwa amongst other officers.
The team of observers from Army Headquarters Department of Training (AHQ DAT) and Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) accessed the readiness of the participants and also outlined major teaching points which was aimed to assist in the smooth conduct of the exercise.
Highlights of the event were, guided tour of the camp, refreshment and presentation of souvenirs.
